Decorative steel
balls, copper balls, and glossy mirror balls are common
metal decorative components.
Their
core differences lie in material and surface treatment:
steel balls offer high cost-effectiveness, copper balls
have a luxurious texture, and mirror balls reflect light
strongly, making them widely used in architecture,
landscaping, sculpture, and soft furnishings.
1. Decorative steel ball (stainless steel/carbon steel)
Material: The mainstream is 201/304/316 stainless steel
(rust-proof), and there is also carbon steel (low cost,
requiring electroplating).
Shape: Solid (small size, 1–50mm), Hollow (large size,
25–2000mm, wall thickness 0.8–2mm).
Surface: mirror polishing (high gloss), brushing
(matte), electroplating (gold/silver/black).
Specification: Diameter 1mm–2m; Tolerance ±0.05mm;
Mirror surface roughness Ra≤0.05μm.
Features: 304/316 corrosion-resistant, suitable for
outdoor use; hollow ball design for lightweight and low
cost; capable of being drilled, welded, and hung.
Bright
mirror ball (mainly mirror stainless steel) • Material: 304/316 stainless
steel (preferred), with a few carbon steel plated with hard chrome/nickel. •
Process: Multiple precision polishing (coarse grinding → fine grinding →
mirror polishing), resulting in a mirror-like surface with high
reflectivity. • Specifications: Diameter ranging from 25 to 2000mm; mainly
hollow (to reduce weight); reflectivity ≥95%. • Features: 360° panoramic
reflection, strong light and shadow effects; corrosion-resistant and
waterproof, durable for outdoor use; strong modern feel, suitable for
sculptures / waterscape / commercial spaces.
Common application scenarios
Architectural decoration: gate post tops, railing handrails, curtain wall
embellishments, elevator lobby ornaments.
Landscape: lawn sculptures, pool floating balls, courtyard path
embellishments, rockery decorations.
Soft furnishings: living room ornaments, entrance decoration, hotel lobby
installations, and art exhibition hall elements.
Sculpture art: independent spherical sculptures, combined spherical
installations, and interactive public art pieces.
Key points for purchase
Material selection: For outdoor use, 304/316 stainless steel is preferred;
for high-end indoor use, brass is recommended; for those on a budget, 201
stainless steel is an option.
Surface craftsmanship: The mirror ball exhibits uniform reflection, with no
scratches or deformations; the copper ball displays a pure color, free from
sand holes.
Specification and wall thickness: For large sizes (>300mm), opt for hollow
and thickened (1.5–2mm) to prevent deformation; for small sizes (<50mm),
solid is more durable.
Installation method: Pre-drilled holes / lifting lugs / base for easy
fixation and lifting. |
